Announcements

Conditions permitting, several districts on the Lolo National Forest are planning to conduct prescribed fire operations today to help reduce hazardous fuels, restore wildlife habitat, and create better protection around communities from future wildfires.

 The Superior Ranger District is planning to conduct prescribed fire operations (pile burn) in the Cold Creek drainage, 7 miles southwest of St. Regis, MT in an effort to reduce hazardous fuels. Area residents may see smoke in the area over the next few days.

Pending conditions, several districts on the Lolo National Forest are planning to conduct pile burns today to reduce hazardous fuels from previous vegetation management operations. 
Pending conditions, pile burning will take place today on the Seeley and Missoula Ranger Districts to reduce hazardous fuels from previous vegetation management operations.Seeley Ranger District:
Superior Ranger District: Pending conditions, prescribed fire operations will take place today on the Superior Ranger District to reduce hazardous fuels from previous vegetation management operations. Firefighters will conduct up to 13 acres of prescribed burning 4 miles north of Henderson near Flat Rock Creek. 
Superior Ranger District: Pending conditions, prescribed fire operations will take place on the Superior Ranger District to help reduce hazardous fuels and restore wildlife habitat. 
Missoula Ranger District: Pending conditions, firefighters will conduct up to 7 acres of hand pile burning in the Lower Blackfoot Corridor, east of Missoula to reduce hazardous fuels from previous vegetation management operations. 
Missoula Ranger District: Pending conditions, pile burning operations will take place today on the Missoula Ranger District to reduce hazardous fuels from previous vegetation management operations.
