Announcements

Plains/Thompson Falls Ranger District: Yesterday, fire crews accomplished 10 acres of prescribed fire operations on the Clear Creek units, 6 miles west of Thompson Falls up Prospect Creek. Today, firefighters plan to finish up to 30 acres of prescribed burning on these units.  Smoke may be visible from Thompson Falls.

Seeley Lake Ranger District: Firefighters will conduct up to 6 acres of hand pile burning today and tomorrow to reduce hazardous fuels from previous vegetation management operations. Pending conditions, the pile burning will take place 2.5 miles northwest of Seeley Lake. Smoke may be visible from Seeley Lake and Highway 83 north.
Pile burning will take place on the Plains/Thompson Falls Ranger District to help reduce hazardous fuels, a key component of the Wildfire Crisis Strategy. 
Pile burning is continuing on the Superior Ranger District 8 miles southeast Superior in the Eddy Creek drainage. Smoke may be visible from the Superior and Interstate 90. Burning piles reduces hazardous fuels and contributes to the implementation of the Wildfire Crisis Strategy.
Pending conditions, pile burning efforts will continue today to reduce hazardous fuels from previous vegetation management operations.
