Fire officials on the Lolo National Forest may implement prescribed fire operations this week, as weather and fuels conditions allow. 
Ninemile Ranger District:  Firefighters will burn up to 40 acres in the Corral Creek project area, 2.5 miles south of Huson. Ignitions are scheduled to begin in the morning hours and will be completed the same day.  Minimal smoke impacts are anticipated; however, smoke may be visible from Interstate 90 in the Huson area.

Plains/Thompson Falls District:  Firefighters will burn up to 10 acres of piles located 3 miles north of Plains. Smoke may be visible from Plains and Highway 200. 
Superior Ranger District:  Firefighters will burn up to 10 acres of understory burning on the Second Chance units located 4.5 miles north of Lozeau and 8 miles east of Superior.  Smoke may be visible from Interstate 90 and to the Second Creek/ Lozeau area residents.

Superior Ranger District: Firefighters will burn up to 10 acres located 2.5 miles west of Superior at the junction of Johnson Lane and Southside Road.  Smoke may be visible from Interstate 90, the town of Superior and the residents of Johnson Lane. This project is in partnership with the Mule Deer Foundation.
